In 1991, Santa Cruz auto body shop Carmat Collision Center started business with only three employees at our present location on Mansfield Street. Through hard work, dedication, consistent attention to detail, and with the assistance of an excellent staff that has grown to include more than 25 full time employees, our shop has grown into a state of the art facility with 15,000 square feet of usable space. Our organization continues to be committed to on-going training for our staff of Technicians and Estimators in our ever evolving industry and we proudly maintain our I-CAR Gold Class certification on an annual basis.
The focus at Carmat Collision Center since day one has been our Customers and their constant satisfaction. We pride ourselves on handling the “people” aspect of our business by always treating everyone in a friendly and fair manner, getting customers back into their vehicles as quickly as possible and performing quality repair work. Our Customer Service Index (CSI) ratings are consistently high and our excellent customer referral rates prove we are doing a very effective job of exceeding our customer’s expectations. We realize our success depends on continuously improving repair turnaround time, as well as responsibly and efficiently managing insurance claims.
In 2006 we completed our planned final expansion which resulted in the addition of more repair bays in the shop, and the replacement of our paint-booths to facilitate our transition to spraying environmentally friendly low VOC Waterborne paint. We have also purchased additional high-tech repair and frame measurement equipment to allow us to handle todays more complicated vehicles. We also designed an ultra-modern office space with original artwork on display and your comfort in mind.
